Over the past two weeks we have seen a number of reports of “Aw, Snap!” crashes across certain long-running pages in Spaces and our Classic interface.
This issue was introduced and/or significantly exacerbated by the release of Chrome v44. We’ve been working with the Chromium team to help them reproduce and find a fix. The good news is this helped identify a long running memory issue with clearing dead objects in V8. The fix has now been applied to head V8.
If you are being affected by these crashes, we suggest you temporarily switch long-running pages to using Firefox or another alternate browser. If you prefer Chrome and don't mind living on the edge this issue appears to be fixed already in Chrome Canary.
We expect the fix for this issue to be released as part of the next stable patch release for Chrome.
UPDATE: The fix for this issue was released with Chrome v45.
